P4 Data Processing Engine (DPE)

Piranha 4 contains a synchronous, linkable, Data Processing Engine that scales with your channel count – so your system never runs out of processing power. 
 
The DPE ensures channel-to-channel phase synchronization, accurate high-resolution spectral products, and real-time tachometer processing, with enough reserve power to perform other custom complex mathematical analyses. 
 
All of this is made available to DSPCon’s real-time data monitoring and display toolset, as well as other real-time numerical processing tools. Because of this unique architecture, you’ll have the processing power you need whether you have 32 or 3,200 channels.

Unrivaled Bandwidth

Piranha 4 is built around state-of-the-art storage, interconnect, and flow control technologies to provide the bandwidth you need to simultaneously record, monitor, archive, playback, and analyze any signals of interest. This capability allows you to begin replaying a recording before it is finished recording.

Full Deployment Flexibility

Piranha 4 uses DSPCon’s PodLink™ ruggedized sensor and control modules for signal conditioning and data acquisition. 

Each PodLink module is designed to withstand extreme environments – so when it’s critical to get a sensor close to the action, PodLink can go where no enterprise-class dynamic data acquisition system has gone before, capturing your data close to the sensor. 

In addition, various mounting options offer more traditional rack-mounted deployments, packing 64 channels of signal conditioning and data acquisition gear in a 2U-high shelf.

Future-Proof

The P4 architecture is modular, expandable, and designed to make updates and additions simple to apply. With several new modules always in development, you’ll find an input for virtually any sensor.

System-level Compatibility

Piranha 4 retains the industry-standard Piranha-III ‘DATX’ file format, and interoperates with existing DSPCon analysis tools. This means your investment in infrastructure and training continues to pay dividends well into the future. Additionally, a significantly expanded set of file-format conversion options permits easy analysis using MATLAB, Excel, and other third-party tools.
 
Data streams are optimized for display and monitoring using MultiScope and other DSPCon real-time display tools such as the versatile Limits & Alarms monitor.
Digital SensorPods & Low-Speed Recording

Piranha 4’s versatility continues. A number of configurable digital pod options accept digital streams from virtually any vendor, and convert them –in real time – to DATX files for display and storage along with any other signal you’re recording. Additionally, low-speed (steady-state) pods offer 64 low-speed channels per SensorPod to the mix of channels.

 

Timing & Synchronization Options

P4 systems synchronize using state-of-the-art IEEE-1588 (PTP) time protocols that are locked to GPS, IRIG or your facility’s time server. Sample clock reference signals are distributed via P4’s exclusive Hub Timing system. All channels are sampled phase synchronously with one another – even if you’re recording thousands of channels.
