Quality Assurance Manager

 

DSPCon's Quality Assurance Manager establishes and maintains a technically competent and effective quality organization that ensures efficient and effective product quality at practical operating costs.

The position reports to the President of the Company, and interacts closely with Project Engineers and software development teams.

The Manager will design and maintain a program to 1) comply with the requirements of ISO-9001, and 2) will meet the needs of the Company's external customers. Specific procedures/instructions implementing the Quality Program are included in the Business Quality Management System Manual.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop a quality awareness environment that establishes deep quality consciousness, while meeting constant business demands and pressures.
  • Serve as primary Quality Assurance (QA) resource to Project Engineers for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with software development teams to improve software development process.
  • Responsible for matters regarding contractual and Company-established quality requirements for all system, hardware, and software products.
  • Control all purchases from evaluated and qualified suppliers to ensure that product is verified as acceptable, including customer-supplied products, which are also stored, maintained, and/or used in a controlled manner.
  • Ensure product is identified and traceability is maintained at all stages of manufacturing by processes developed and controlled in a planned manner including inspection, testing, and statistical techniques to verify product characteristics.
  • Control and document the handling, storage, packaging, preservation, and delivery of products to prevent damage and degradation, maintaining conformance to the customer and quality records maintained.
  • Control nonconforming products to preclude unauthorized use.
  • Develop and implement a corrective and preventative action plan for all elements of the Quality Program, including continuous improvement.
  • Oversee inspection measuring and test equipment is controlled and calibrated, and inspection and test status is maintained to allow authorized personnel to accept product.
  • Ensure servicing of products is performed, verified, and reported as required by the customer.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of internal audits to monitor and control the Quality Program and the training provided for both technical concepts as well as employee development.

Qualifications:

  • Previous Quality Assurance Manager or Lead desired with BSEE/CS/ME with 2-4 years of Software Quality Assurance and software or system level testing and verification experience.
  • Strong familiarity/working knowledge of ISO9001:2000 requirements.
  • Dedicated to meeting expectations and requirements of both internal and external customers.
  • Write clear, concise and well-organized documentation.
  • Willingness to learn, and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and stimulate a good attitude in others.
  • Lead by personal example; demonstrate integrity and trust, and is competent and resourceful.
