Demodulators

DSPCon provides a variety of demodulation software products for AM, FM, USB and LBS applications. Each software product in the demodulation family is optimized for a variety of digital signal processors and comes equipped with a front-end complexifier component that transforms read data into band-shifted complex data. The software is designed as a library (with supporting header files) that can be called from the user’s ‘C” or assembly language application.

Model 5920-001—AM Demodulator

This software is used for a wide variety of applications ranging from straight AM radio demodulation with drop receiver input to FDM demultiplexing for space applications.

Overview:
  • Performs AM demodulation and flexible output gain
  • C library
  • Output SNR of better than 50 dB
  • Input bandwidths of up to 800kHz
Specifications:
  • Provides AM demodulated output with an SNR of >50 dB
  • Provides output gain from -231 to +231 in floating point format
  • Accepts packed I&Q (In-phase and Quadrature) input at rates up to 800K samples/second on a processor running at 50 MHz
  • Provides 16 bits of signed AM demodulated results that are placed in upper half of a 32-bit DSP word which results from the AM demodulation of the I&Q input signal and the application of a user-supplied output gain factor
Model 5920-002—FM Demodulator

This software is used for a wide variety of applications ranging from straight FM radio demodulation with drop receiver input to FDM demultiplexing for space applications.

Overview:
  • Performs FM demodulation and flexible output gain
  • C library
  • Output SNR of better than 50 dB
  • Input bandwidths of up to 400kHz
Specifications:
  • Provides FM demodulated output with an SNR of >50 dB
  • Provides output gain from -231 to +231 in floating point format
  • Accepts packed I&Q (In-phase and Quadrature) input at rates up to 400K samples/second on a processor running at 50 MHz
  • Provides 16 bits of signed FM demodulated results that are placed in upper half of a 32-bit DSP word which results from the FM demodulation of the I&Q input signal and the application of a user-supplied output gain factor
Model 5920-003—USB Demodulator
Overview:
  • Performs USB demodulation and flexible output gain
  • C library
  • Output SNR of better than 50 dB
  • Input bandwidths of up to 100kHz
Specifications:
  • Provides FM demodulated output with an SNR of >50 dB
